The website kicks off with a black and white film of a Sixties sports car arriving at the hotel – enough said. Designed in 1952 by William F. Cody, the L’Horizon Resort & Spa attracted movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable, in addition to many U.S. presidents (although hopefully not together –JFK we mean you). Recently redesigned by Steve Hermann in a multi-million dollar renovation ( like Frette linens, Dean & Deluca goodies in the minibar) it is now one of the most luxurious examples of mid-century architecture out there with sleek white cabanas and palm trees surrounding the pool, No wonder it is a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Oh, and did we mention the Michelin-starred chef (ex- elBulli ) Giacomo Pettinari’s new restaurant.
